Our capabilities are twofold: we architect, plan and build a wide range of web sites and web-related projects, and we integrate applications into clients' existing infrastructure. We are 10 years old and have had considerable success. As a result of our continuing growth, we are looking to find people to join our technical staff in our Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver offices.

Your Challenge:

RealDecoy is seeking to add new client-facing Technical Leads to its team. These roles will be fast paced from the moment you start; you will be learning new technologies, new ways of working and you will be collaborating with a variety of clients to ensure that we provide the best possible service to them. Typically, you will be required to:

  • Technical risk management on projects.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of technical environments for web applications keeping abreast of new technologies and changes that may impact the implementation of client projects.
  • Participate in the full life-cycle of professional services projects: attending client meetings, client facing requirement workshops, application design and integration strategy, development, and deployment support.
  • Create test harnesses, detailed technical specifications and resolve programming problems.
  • Develop application architecture.
  • Design the deployment architecture for web-based applications.
  • Provide time estimates for various aspects of development.

As the Ideal Candidate, you will have:

  • A diverse background with experience in various web development technologies such as Java (Servlets, JSP, JSTL), ASP.NET, PHP as well as fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and WEB Serives (SOAP and REST).
  • A keenness to learn new platforms and programming languages.
  • Experience with source control systems (SVN).
  • Experience with data modeling, batch processing, ETL, and data verification.
  • Experience with Tomcat, IIS and Apache application servers.
  • Experience working with object oriented application design for the web.
  • University degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Knowledge of Java frameworks: Springs, Struts, Hibernate, etc
  • Experience with other application servers: WebSphere etc
  • Knowledge of SOAP and web services implementation
  • Experience with ORM tools
  • Experience troubleshooting application performance problems & optimizing web systems.
  • Experience with MSSQL, MySQL, Access, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other DB platforms.
  • Experience with Drupal, Wordpress and other mid to enterprise level Content Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of search engines like Google Search appliance, Endeca and Apache Solr.
