RealDecoy is a growing web development company. Our capabilities are twofold: we architect, plan and build a wide range of web sites and web-related projects, and we integrate applications into clients’ existing infrastructure. Our clients range from small agencies to large multinational corporations. We excel at what we do, we work to the very highest standards and all of our staff take great pride in their work.
We are 10 years old and have had considerable success. As a result of our continuing growth, we are looking to find a co-op student to join our IT team in Ottawa, Ontario.
Your Challenge:
This role will be fast paced from the moment you start; you will be learning new ways of working and you will be collaborating with a variety of technical professionals to ensure that we provide the best possible support service to our team. Typically, you will be required to:
- Deal with PC troubleshooting, repair and support.
- Assist the Network Systems Administrator and IT Manager in daily undertakings.
- Orchestrate workstation set-up, which may involve manual labour, including assembling desks/furniture.
- Acquire warranty support and conduct product research.

As the Ideal Candidate, you will have:
- Basic PC knowledge.
- A keenness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with networking, Macintosh and Linux computing systems.
- A desire to pursue a career in the Information Technology sector.
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast paced, team driven environment.
- The physical strength to lift up to 35lbs.
- Registration in a high school or college Co-op program.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with documenting Standard Operating Procedures.
- Experience dealing with technical support calls and ordering.
Remuneration: This position is unpaid. However, a professional reference will be given upon completion.
