Data Transformation Developer

RealDecoy is seeking to add a new data developer to its implementation team. Fast paced and project oriented position; this is an excellent opportunity to make the jump to the web industry while leveraging your previous experience.

Data developers are responsible for implementing interfaces between legacy systems and next generation web infrastructure. The core focus of the position is to provide data import & export functionality between existing systems and new federated search systems. The technologies you need to interact with will be varied; your core development work, however, will usually be done in a Java environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, plan and implement solutions related to search and navigation, leveraging the Endeca IAP and Apache SOLR platforms.
  • Produce design specifications and technical documentation.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of technical environments for web applications keeping current on new technologies that may impact the implementation of client projects.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Diverse technical background; comfortable working in several programming languages.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Development experience in a J2EE environment
  • Working knowledge of XML, XSLT and Regular Expressions for data manipulation.
  • Writing and validating xml schemas and DTDs.
  • Experience with data modeling, batch processing, and data verification
  • Prior experience working with SVN or other version control systems.

ASSETS

  • Working knowledge of the Eclipse environment for Java development
  • Any development experience under .NET and/or PERL
  • Any database development experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2. Experience with any legacy database systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence; OLAP systems
  • Experience with the Corda charting APIs
  • IT Experience with network design; load balancer set-up and control script infrastructure.
  • Experience in acquiring and merging content from disparate sources (RDBMS, XML, flat files, etc.)
  • Experience with performance tuning of applications.
